HFFI is thrilled to be one of the Renwick’s biggest fans and hope you’ll join us in advocating for the high-quality preservation work it deserves!
The Historic Structures Report: Renwick Courthouse, Wallace Library, and Old Jail, City of Fredericksburg, Virginia, issued and revised in 2016, recounts the history of the Renwick Courthouse, completed in 1852 and used as a courthouse until 2014. It also assessed the current conditions of all three buildings and made recommendations for their maintenance and rehabilitation, providing a prioritized schedule and cost estimate for each phase of work. The report was prepared by a group of experts that included representatives of Commonwealth Architects of Richmond and architectural engineers (formal citation below).
