Your Building’s Historic Value

As the owner of a historic building, you are the caretaker for a piece of history. Your job is to maintain the building, so it can be passed on to future generations.

You may want to change your building for a variety of reasons, but what is best for the building? There is an intrinsic value to a historic building, and you may diminish that value with alterations.

When in doubt, ask yourself, “Is this change reversible?” If later owners want to return it to its original form, can they?

“Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.”
